Lester River Bridge, Grandma’s Marathon
Another print originally done for Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth– this time the twentieth anniversary race in 1996. The runners go by the old fish hatchery building (built circa 1886) after crossing the Lester River bridge, right on Lake Superior and still six miles from the finish line.
We learned afterwards that many runners didn’t recognise either the bridge or the fishery building; they evidently had other things on their mind at that point….
